I did get time for some RV quality time as well, but the in-laws came by last night for some BBQ, so I didn&#8217;t get time to update\u00a0my site.<br \/>\nYesterday I started out preparing the parts for the electric aileron trim.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1840\" title=\"center-fuselage-044-400x\" src=\"http:\/\/www.rv-7.dk\/wp-content\/center-fuselage-044-400x.jpg\" alt=\"center-fuselage-044-400x\" width=\"400\" height=\"300\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">First I had to\u00a0modify this trim block that will hold an control arm.<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1841\" title=\"center-fuselage-045-400x\" src=\"http:\/\/www.rv-7.dk\/wp-content\/center-fuselage-045-400x.jpg\" alt=\"center-fuselage-045-400x\" width=\"400\" height=\"300\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">I had to chamfer one edge, to make it sit nicely into the bracket.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1842\" title=\"center-fuselage-046-400x\" src=\"http:\/\/www.rv-7.dk\/wp-content\/center-fuselage-046-400x.jpg\" alt=\"center-fuselage-046-400x\" width=\"400\" height=\"300\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">I drilled two holes using my drill press&#8230;<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1843\" title=\"center-fuselage-047-400x\" src=\"http:\/\/www.rv-7.dk\/wp-content\/center-fuselage-047-400x.jpg\" alt=\"center-fuselage-047-400x\" width=\"400\" height=\"300\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Finally I made a notch, that will allow me to install a cotter pin into the trim control arm.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1844\" title=\"center-fuselage-048-400x\" src=\"http:\/\/www.rv-7.dk\/wp-content\/center-fuselage-048-400x.jpg\" alt=\"center-fuselage-048-400x\" width=\"400\" height=\"300\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">I trimmed the bracket to length &amp; deburred all the edges.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1845\" title=\"center-fuselage-049-400x\" src=\"http:\/\/www.rv-7.dk\/wp-content\/center-fuselage-049-400x.jpg\" alt=\"center-fuselage-049-400x\" width=\"400\" height=\"300\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Then I marked a line, and aligned and drilled it to the seat floor pan.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1846\" title=\"center-fuselage-050-400x\" src=\"http:\/\/www.rv-7.dk\/wp-content\/center-fuselage-050-400x.jpg\" alt=\"center-fuselage-050-400x\" width=\"400\" height=\"300\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Then I bolted it to the center seat ribs, and drilled another two holes. This was as far as I got last night. \ud83d\ude42<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1847\" title=\"center-fuselage-051-400x\" src=\"http:\/\/www.rv-7.dk\/wp-content\/center-fuselage-051-400x.jpg\" alt=\"center-fuselage-051-400x\" width=\"400\" height=\"300\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">After drilling the holes for the plastic trim block and the nutplates, I countersank the block hole&#8230;<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1848\" title=\"center-fuselage-052-400x\" src=\"http:\/\/www.rv-7.dk\/wp-content\/center-fuselage-052-400x.jpg\" alt=\"center-fuselage-052-400x\" width=\"400\" height=\"300\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">&#8230;and the nutplate holes.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1849\" title=\"center-fuselage-053-400x\" src=\"http:\/\/www.rv-7.dk\/wp-content\/center-fuselage-053-400x.jpg\" alt=\"center-fuselage-053-400x\" width=\"400\" height=\"300\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">A little deburring..<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1850\" title=\"center-fuselage-054-400x\" src=\"http:\/\/www.rv-7.dk\/wp-content\/center-fuselage-054-400x.jpg\" alt=\"center-fuselage-054-400x\" width=\"400\" height=\"300\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">I had to find the neutral position of the trim servo. For that I used a 9volt battery.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1851\" title=\"center-fuselage-055-400x\" src=\"http:\/\/www.rv-7.dk\/wp-content\/center-fuselage-055-400x.jpg\" alt=\"center-fuselage-055-400x\" width=\"400\" height=\"300\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Then I could put the whole trim assy together, so I could mark the position of the trim servo.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1852\" title=\"center-fuselage-056-400x\" src=\"http:\/\/www.rv-7.dk\/wp-content\/center-fuselage-056-400x.jpg\" alt=\"center-fuselage-056-400x\" width=\"400\" height=\"300\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">The assy in place, I fixed the servo to the rib with tape.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1853\" title=\"center-fuselage-057-400x\" src=\"http:\/\/www.rv-7.dk\/wp-content\/center-fuselage-057-400x.jpg\" alt=\"center-fuselage-057-400x\" width=\"400\" height=\"300\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Then I carefully removed the rib and drilled the servo to the rib.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1854\" title=\"center-fuselage-058-400x\" src=\"http:\/\/www.rv-7.dk\/wp-content\/center-fuselage-058-400x.jpg\" alt=\"center-fuselage-058-400x\" width=\"400\" height=\"300\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Now it was time to do the final hole deburring and surface scuffing. I also had to countersink various holes for nutplate rivets, like these ones on the seat belt brackets.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1855\" title=\"center-fuselage-059-400x\" src=\"http:\/\/www.rv-7.dk\/wp-content\/center-fuselage-059-400x.jpg\" alt=\"center-fuselage-059-400x\" width=\"400\" height=\"300\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">The baggage area ribs ready for primer.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1856\" title=\"center-fuselage-060-400x\" src=\"http:\/\/www.rv-7.dk\/wp-content\/center-fuselage-060-400x.jpg\" alt=\"center-fuselage-060-400x\" width=\"400\" height=\"300\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">I had to drill the outer seat rib nutplate holes.<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1857\" title=\"center-fuselage-061-400x\" src=\"http:\/\/www.rv-7.dk\/wp-content\/center-fuselage-061-400x.jpg\" alt=\"center-fuselage-061-400x\" width=\"400\" height=\"300\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">I managed to deburr all the baggage area ribs and about half the seat ribs today.
