So tonight I got a little done on the left elevator.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\">First I dimpled the trim cover and doubler screw holes.<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.rv-7.dk\/wp-content\/elevators-048-400x300.jpg\" alt=\"elevators-048-400\u00d7300.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p align=\"center\">Instead of dimpling the anchornuts for the trim cover screws, I decided to use NAS1097 rivets like many other RV builders. These rivets have a smaller head than the standard AN426 rivets, which means you can countersink the doubler without enlarging the holes.\u00a0This produces a much nicer finish.<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.rv-7.dk\/wp-content\/elevators-049-400x300.jpg\" alt=\"elevators-049-400\u00d7300.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p align=\"center\">Notice how little you have to countersink to make this rivet sit flush.<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.rv-7.dk\/wp-content\/elevators-051-400x300.jpg\" alt=\"elevators-051-400\u00d7300.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p align=\"center\">Anchornut ready to get backriveted.<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.rv-7.dk\/wp-content\/elevators-052-400x300.jpg\" alt=\"elevators-052-400\u00d7300.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p align=\"center\">After the anchornuts were riveted, I backriveted the doubler to the skin! Turned out very nice!! \ud83d\ude00<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.rv-7.dk\/wp-content\/elevators-054-400x533.jpg\" alt=\"elevators-054-400\u00d7533.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p align=\"center\">Next thing is to bend the ends of the skin, where the trim tab goes. For that I need to make a block to bend it against. I made that from some 1&#8243; MDF.<br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.rv-7.dk\/wp-content\/elevators-055-400x300.jpg\" alt=\"elevators-055-400\u00d7300.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p align=\"center\">Checking to see the fit.
