It’s been way too long since my last post. I have had a bunch of other projects going on, but I have also been trying to make up my mind to redo the canopy hinge drilling.
\nI actually drilled them to final size about\u00a05 weeks ago and installed bushings, but\u00a0I wasn’t quite pleased with the result.
\nThe hole had shifted slightly when reaming to final size, so the gap between the canopy skin and the forward top skin became a little larger than I was going for. It wasn’t really bad, only about 1\/16″, but in the end I made up my mind to redo them. Luckily I know a great aircraft sheetmetal expert in Billund, who also happen to be great at welding aluminum. He did an awesome job of closing the holes again, after filing down the surfaces, it was hardly possible to see there had ever been holes. Thanks a lot Bo, you’re the best! \ud83d\ude42

So, now I could fit the weldment again, this time I am gonna be a bit more careful when enlarging the holes to final size.
