It been a very productive week.
\nOn Tuesday I managed to get the steel parts primed and painted.

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Wednesday I started by making the rudder stops. They are made from 1 x 1,25 inch angle.
\n\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

After trimming them according to the plans, I marked the rivet locations.
\n\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

I only marked the location on one of the stops, then used that to matchdrill the other.
\n\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Countersunk and finished…
\n\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

I also matchdrilled them to the tail section
\n\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

While working on the tail, I decided to finish the inspection access panels too.
\n\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

I choose to dimple the fastener holes instead of countersinking.
\nI tested countersinking on some scrap sheet, and found the it would enlarge the holes too much.
\n\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

I also dimpled the and riveted on nutplates.
\n\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

With all the steel parts for the canopy hinge mechanism, I could put that together too.

I glued and riveted the small taps for the forward top skin.
\n\"\"<\/a>\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Last thing I did yesterday, was put the rudder pedal assembly back together.
\n\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Today I started installing the final skin; the forward top skin. I applied some firewall sealing to the firewall, before clecoing the skin on for the last time.
\n\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

I was able to squeeze all the firewall rivets, but the rest will have to wait for my trusted old riveting buddy. \ud83d\ude09
