Today was a big day!
\nFirst, it was my 8th day in a row working on the plane. It’s been a long time since I’ve had such a progressive streak.
\nBut more important, it was the day when I finally finished the last skin.
\nMy friend Bent came by to help me rivet the rest.

All done. He also helped me install the canopy again.
\n\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

It feels so great being at this point now; a few more things on the list, and I’m ready to move this baby to the airport. \ud83d\ude00<\/p>\n

One of these items I actually did yesterday; the canopy secondary lock.
\nI diverted a little bit from the plans on this. I wanted to give it a stowed position, so I had another friend, Thomas, mill about 10mm of the fiberblock, to make room for a spring. The spring becomes quite solid when fully compressed, so it would still work well when locking the canopy, and allow the handle to be stowed when unlocked.

I decided to make a coverplate for the block and spring. I trimmed a piece of .025 sheet, will give it the bends next time I go to the airport.
