The first I did on the aircraft in the new location, was installing the horizontal stabilizer.
\nI carefully aligned it by measuring from the firewall to the stabilizer tips, then clamped it down and drilled the bolt holes.

Then I clamped the vertical stabilizer in place and drilled the bolt holes.
\n\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

After matchdrilling the forward spar attach plate, I primed it and riveted it to the stabilizer.
\n\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

I reinstalled the vertical stabilizer…
\n\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Next I bolted on the rudder. It is starting to look more like an airplane now! \ud83d\ude00
\n\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

The gaps between the fuselage and horizontal stab are closed by 2 aluminum fairings below and a fiberglass fairing on top.
\nI trimmed the alu farings so there was 1\/16″ gap to the stab. I plan on installing a small rubber fillet seal after paint.

The empennage fairing actually wasn’t as bad a fit as I had feared.
\n\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

I started by marking and trimming the upper edge..
\n\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Then marking the forward edge.
\n\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

After a lot of trimming and matchdrilling, I am almost happy with the result.

There is still a little too much gap at the horizontal stab leading edges, but I wall fill these later.
