I finished treating the tank skins with Aludyne, and almost finished making the trap doors, that will prevent the fuel from moving towards the tip in a roll. It is made of a small plate, secured to the inboard internal rib with a hinge.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-691\" title=\"wings-254-400x\" src=\"http:\/\/www.rv-7.dk\/wp-content\/wings-254-400x.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"300\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-692\" title=\"wings-255-400x\" src=\"http:\/\/www.rv-7.dk\/wp-content\/wings-255-400x.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"300\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Aludyne treated and riveted; this was as far as I got yesterday&#8230;<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-693\" title=\"wings-256-400x\" src=\"http:\/\/www.rv-7.dk\/wp-content\/wings-256-400x.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"300\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Today I started with drilling them\u00a0to the ribs. I want to install 3\/32 round head rivets, I will have to get some from work!<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-694\" title=\"wings-257-400x\" src=\"http:\/\/www.rv-7.dk\/wp-content\/wings-257-400x.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"300\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Then I began preparing for riveting on the tank stiffeners. First I wiped everything down with M.E.K, then I clecoed the stiffeners to the skin.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-695\" title=\"wings-258-400x\" src=\"http:\/\/www.rv-7.dk\/wp-content\/wings-258-400x.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"533\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Then I applied masking tape around the stiffeners. The sealant fillet look much nicer\u00a0when it&#8217;s\u00a0straight.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-696\" title=\"wings-259-400x\" src=\"http:\/\/www.rv-7.dk\/wp-content\/wings-259-400x.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"533\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">After that I removed the stiffeners again and flipped the skin over. Now it was time to dig out the tank sealant and mix some. I mixed 50g in a small plastic cup..<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-697\" title=\"wings-260-400x\" src=\"http:\/\/www.rv-7.dk\/wp-content\/wings-260-400x.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"300\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Inspired by many of the other builders, I applied a tiny bit of sealant to each dimple. That way you are absolutely sure it won&#8217;t leak.<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-698\" title=\"wings-261-400x\" src=\"http:\/\/www.rv-7.dk\/wp-content\/wings-261-400x.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"533\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">Then I put rivets in all the holes and taped them with &#8220;back-riveting tape&#8221;<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-699\" title=\"wings-262-400x\" src=\"http:\/\/www.rv-7.dk\/wp-content\/wings-262-400x.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"300\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-700\" title=\"wings-263-400x\" src=\"http:\/\/www.rv-7.dk\/wp-content\/wings-263-400x.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"533\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">With the rivets in place, I flipped the skin back over, and started applying sealing to the stiffeners. I used a small paint brush cut down to about \u00bdcm. Worked pretty good..<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-701\" title=\"wings-264-400x\" src=\"http:\/\/www.rv-7.dk\/wp-content\/wings-264-400x.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"300\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">All stiffeners riveted to the right tank skin!<br \/>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-702\" title=\"wings-265-400x\" src=\"http:\/\/www.rv-7.dk\/wp-content\/wings-265-400x.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"300\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">I still need to apply sealing to the rivet shop heads.
