Great day today in many ways. I passed a technical exam today at work, now I am a certified technician on the Fouga Magister Jet Trainer. Yay!! 😀
After I came home I finished the left flap and installed it. It went so fast I forgot to take photos, but here it is installed:

After that I began building the right flap. (..and remembered to take plenty of photos) Here it is clecoed together and ready to rivet.

After riveting the skin joint and the upper rib flanges, I removed it to rivet the bottom flanges.

All ribs riveted…
‘

Now it’s ready for the spar…

First I pop-rivet the ribs to the spar. It’s a little easier to get access to the upper ones before you rivet the flanges.

The plans call out for poprivets in the outer rib too, but I prefer solid rivets.

Then I clecoed on the hinge and riveted it.

Also squeezed the rivets in the flap control arm bracket.

Before clecoing the last spar flange, I checked the flap for twist by laying it on my workbench. It was nice and straight.

The right flap finished!! Only need to install the other hinge half onto the wing and I’m ready to start on the fuselage!!
