I continued making parts for the F-705 bulkhead today. There really is a lot of stuff to fabricate for this bulkhead, great fun! 🙂
On the bottom of the bulkhead there will be a reinforcement bar, which the wing aft spars will bolt onto. I started by trimming this bar to lenght…

Then I marked the centerline..

..and aligned it with the prepunched holes in the lower bulkhead and matchdrilled it.

In the ends of the reinforcement bar goes another two bars, that are pre-bend in a Z-shape. I had to trim about ¼” of the outboard ends of these.

I aligned the outboard ends with one of the flap bellcrank plastic blocks, then clamped the bars together.

After the holes in the reinforcement bar had been traced to the Z-shaped bars, I clecoed the bars to the bulkhead lower part.

Next I had to make 2 shims out of this ¼” bar..

With the spacers in place, I could drill the holes through the spacers and Z-bar.

Last I did tonight, was to mark and cut the Z-bar taper. This was a good nights work! 🙂
