I have started the process of overhauling my propeller.
The first step is to check all the parts for cracks. I have already disassembled and cleaned most of the parts, but I still had to strip the blades for paint.

Nice and clean, ready for NDT.

Another project I have been working on, is getting all the composite parts ready for paint.
Van’s recommend giving the parts a layer of epoxy, mixed 1:1 with acetone. This is to try and fill most of the pin holes before applying filler.

After the epoxy had cured, I sanded all the parts smooth with grid 80.

After that, I gave everything a coat of spray filler…

I also installed the interior back in the aircraft, adding all the missing velcro.

The tonneau cover was also installed.

I received a small order from Vans a few weeks ago, including these small stiffeners for the tailcone.
They are recommended to install iaw. SL-00014

It was pretty straightforward to mark and matchdrill them…

I still need to prime the stiffeners, but other than that, they are ready to be installed.
